Lachung
Lachung is a small town and hill station in the Mangan district of Sikkim, northeast India. It’s about 50 km from Mangan, the district headquarters, and is close to the border with Tibet. Lachung sits at an altitude of around 9,600 feet (2,900 meters), where the Lachen and Lachung Rivers meet, both of which flow into the Teesta River. The name “Lachung” means “small pass.” The town is located roughly 125 km (78 miles) from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.
